Nikka Miyagikyo Rum Wood Finish 2017

A limited edition of Miyagikyo's single malt, finished in rum barrels for twelve months to accentuate the distillery's fruity and seductive profile. Tropical and creamy notes emerge on the nose—peach, mango, and vanilla—with elegant sweetness and a light minerality. The palate is oily and enveloping, revealing ripe fruit, caramel, and chocolate with a gentle spice of ginger and white pepper; citrus freshness balances the whole through to a long, warm, and very harmonious finish. Released in 2017 in a run of approximately 3,500 bottles.
