Octomore 12.2

A super-peaty Islay single malt, matured first in American ex-bourbon oak and then finished for 18 months in Sauternes barrels, which elevates layers of sweet fruit and florality along with intense peat. Melon and white peach, honeysuckle, and coconut emerge on the nose, followed by apple/pear, smoke, and toasted oak. The palate is oily and deep, with sweetness balanced by salinity and spice, notes of citrus, honey, and smoked chocolate; it finishes very long, smoky, and mineral. Non-chill filtered, uncolored, and matured entirely on Islay.
