Rare Lagavulin 12 Years Special Release 2022

A classic Islay single malt in an annual release with an intense character. The nose reveals powerful peat and campfire smoke, sea air, and medicinal notes, with pepper, ginger, and lemon zest. The palate begins sweetly and gains momentum with bright citrus acidity and a saline note, gaining strength in spice and smoke until a very long, dry, and iodized finish. Aged primarily in reclaimed American oak, with virgin oak influences accentuating the smoky dimension.
